So, I’m a few months late in posting this, but I’m new to this whole “Family Blog” thing.  So, give me a break, alright? :)

Silas celebrated his THIRD birthday on April 24.  Can we all just take a moment to let that sink in….My BABY is THREE now! How did that happen?

Ok, so back to the festivities! We had a great time celebrating with family and friends.  Silas wanted a Ninja Turtle birthday party…Okay, so technically he wanted a “Raph” party.  (For all you un-hip, un-cool people out there, that would be Raphael…the red turtle who just happens to be Silas’s favorite turtle.  His favorite color just happens to be red too.  I’ve always wondered though…is red his favorite color because Raphael is red, OR is Raphael his favorite ninja turtle because he is red?) I digress.

As most of my family knows, my favorite part of the party is the cake.  That is how we pick our theme, by deciding what kind of cake the kids want.  This year, everything was Raph.  “Silas, what kind of cake do you want?” RAPH! “Silas, what do you want for your birthday?” RAPH!  “Silas, what should we have for dinner?” RAPH!  Ok, so that’s a little bit of an over-exaggeration, but you get the picture.  I decided to simplify things for myself this year, and we did cupcakes!
